17 Facts – How Does A Guy Feel When You Block Him

You blocked him and wondered ‘how does a guy feel when you block him’. Sometimes in a relationship, we can result in blocking our partners, when they piss us off or do something we don’t just want to talk about or when we are tired of their sh#t.

As a woman who has been blocked before, I know how angry it can make you feel. Like you want to talk to the person but there is no way to reach them. This made me wonder; “how does a guy feel when you block him?” Since men aren’t that impressive,  I was forced to do some research.

Some men testified that; when women block them, they feel confused and at the first instant they run into a state of anger and sadness that can even affect their self-esteem. This can make them start looking for multiple ways to contact her when they have finally realized their mistake.

In my research, I came up with 17 ways guys may feel when you block them.

17 facts- How does he feel when you block him

1Angry

The fact that you did it when he still had a lot to say, would make him feel so much anger. If he is your boyfriend, he is going to want to talk to you and tell you how angry you made him feel by blocking him.

If it’s an ex he might just be angry because you hurt his ego by blocking him, instead of trying to talk things out. Most times the anger would subside and he would realize what he has done if he was the one at fault.

2. He may just be relieved

Some guys can feel you have helped them, to do what they have been wanting to do when you block them. So, he does not have to live with the guilt of being the one who ended things.

When you cut your ex from your life, he is happy you moved on because he never wanted something serious in the future.

3. Shocked

A guy might have known he got you angry. When you block him it’s going to come off as a surprise to him because he did not think it had gotten to that extent. He might not be able to even know what to do, whether to look for other ways or not; this will lead him into confusion.

4. Confused

It is very difficult for a guy to understand the reason for your action. Maybe, for instance, he just woke up and tried to call your number, then realized it’s not going through.

He might try to check on social media and see that you are not friends again. Or he enters to message you and sees this “user has blocked you.” This will lead him into instant confusion.

What has happened or did something happen to her?  Did someone hack her phone and block her? A state of confusion you would agree, yes?

5. He may panic

If you block a guy that you are still dating, it’s going to make his heart beat fast. Have I lost her?  He is going to keep calling and sending texts even when it’s not going through. Might try to reach out to your family or friends, if they have heard anything from you.

6. Guilt

He is going to feel intense guilt.  He might not even know what he has done to you. But he knows if it results in you blocking him, then you are hurt. This will make him hate himself for hurting you so much.

7. Tortured

Not having to talk to you will inflict so much pain on him. Especially if he still has feelings for you. He is going to go through so much pain for all the periods that he won’t be able to talk to you.

8. Frustrated

The inability to be able to reach you to know what’s wrong or to try to fix things will make him upset and annoyed. This can even make him cry out of frustration.

9. Hurt

When he still loves you, but you guys have an issue. Instead of you to sort it out, you blocked him. It’s going to make him feel very hurt. He would feel his actions have caused him your love.

10. He would feel that he last someone

Blocking someone can make them feel you don’t want anything from them anymore. And that you hate them now. So when you block him, that feeling of  ‘losing someone he loves,’ would be going through his mind.  The fact that he loves you so much, will make him feel lost without you.

11. He may feel a growing desire for you

Sometimes absence makes the heart grow fonder. So when you block him, he might start making his heart long for you even more.

12. He may feel lowering self-esteem

Blocking him might hurt his ego. It has a direct impact on his self-esteem. The fact that he could control you boosted his ego but now that you blocked him, he starts questioning himself. ‘Is it that I am not man enough?’ It can lower his self-esteem. Blocking him will make him feel worthless and unimportant.

13. Looking for ways to fix things

If he truly loves you, he is going to start to look for ways to fix things between guys immediately. He might try to talk to your friends or try to send you an apologetic text with another number.

14. He may feel that you don’t love him

If he is your boyfriend, he is going to feel you don’t love him enough resulting in blocking him so soon. If you love him or don’t have someone else, you won’t give up on your relationship so fast.

15. He may hate you immediately

If the guy feels like he did nothing wrong, he is going to hate you for blocking him. To him, you are the one who offended him and you are the one who blocked him

16. He may realize his mistake and feel sorry

According to most guys, this is the case for them when someone they love blocks them. Even when they were wrong but did not accept it, time alone is going to make him realize and want to apologize for his wrongdoings.

Still, wonder “how does a guy feel when you block” him? This is one of the major things that happens to a man that still loves you.

17. He wants to do it back to you

When you block a guy sometimes, it’s going to be vengeful. So whenever you unblock him he is going to have the plan likely to block you back.

‘Felicia, bye…’ to a guy like this though.

The psychology behind blocking a guy

Why do people block someone? What is the psychology behind it? Blocking a guy is mostly a thing of self-centeredness. Some people cannot deal with emotions. they prefer to escape from it.

So whenever online interactions play on their self-esteem or hurt their ego, they go straight to blocking that person, including in real life. They do this because they have insecurities. When you have low self-esteem, little things are going to hurt you and you will block the person immediately. Because you don’t want anything that will affect your mental health.

Some women cannot face difficult situations. Some people prefer to run from situations rather than face them. That is why when a guy offends them and they are having issues with a guy they can just decide to block them instead of looking for a way to talk about the issue, fight over it or beat themselves over it.

This does not mean weakness though. It means that they care so much about keeping their sanity and are strong enough to know when to run from situations that might not benefit them.

Blocking is a form of self-care for some women. They do it to keep their peace. A guy can be all over you with a series of offensive messages or even be a serial tester. A girl will decide to block him to keep her peace.

Is it a good idea to block him?

Though people might tell you cutting someone off online is too harsh, it can be the best thing to do in some situations. Moreover, the block function is there for a reason.

If you want to get over a guy and you feel blocking him is the best way to do it then you can go ahead. If a guy is toxic to you or you can also block him. It is all about your peace of mind.

Blocking him might not be a good idea when you guys have an issue you have to talk about. You block him because you feel you can’t stand talking about the issue or see no need of having him in your life. This is going to make him see you as self-centered And might even make him hurt and feel you never cared.

Sometimes, it’s better to talk out issues than to block someone. Except they are disturbing your peace. It’s your peace so you have the right to decide what to do.

Is it immature to block someone?

Blocking can be a sign of maturity and immaturity too. If you are having a pointless argument with someone you don’t even want in your online space again, the mature thing to do is to block them off. It would be immature to start exchanging words with an irrelevant person.

If it’s a friend or a boyfriend blocking them can be a sign of immaturity, if they were just trying to talk to you or you had a minor misunderstanding. But maybe they drop an offensive message for you. Instead of trying to return the favor, the best thing to do is block them.

Should I block or just ignore him

Well, it’s your online space and your life you have the right to who you want in or want out.  When a guy is constantly sending you messages and you think it inconveniences you, you can block him.

But if maybe an ex is trying to get your back and you have told him you don’t want to, I think just muting and ignoring him would be the better option.

When you ignore people it gives them more pain than when you block them. But also give you a chance of getting back to them when your anger subsides. But when you block them, texting them back would make you look so immature.

What hurts more, blocking or ignoring

Ignoring someone hurts more than when you block them. The fact that they are seeing you updating the different posts and seeing you online without replying to their text would make them want to smash their phone in frustration.

If you block them he is going to feel you ended things but you still love him that you can’t withstand him. When you ignore him he is going to feel like you don’t give a damn about him. Most times when you ignore him for long he is going to start sending you offensive texts to piss you off just to get you to talk to him.

That silent treatment hurts more than anything.

Is blocking someone to be considered toxic?

Blocking on its own is not a toxic behavior. It can only be when you do it because you don’t want anyone to control you. Some people can block you even when you try to give them advice about something.

When you see blocking people as a way of hurting them then it’s toxic. When you do it without considering how the other person will feel. Especially when it was not warranted. If you find yourself doing this frequently then you have made it a toxic behavior and habit.

Will he miss me when I block him?

Sometimes when we shut out of people’s lives, they tend to realize how much we mean to them. So if he still loves you and knows he did something wrong that made you block him, the inability to talk to you will make him miss you so damn much.

Is blocking someone a sign of weakness

Blocking someone is not a sign of weakness. If you decide to free yourself from something that hurts you does not mean that you are weak. It means that you put yourself first and that it’s most important. Will you call someone who runs from a fight they might not win or because they don’t want to fight weakly?  To others, it might be seen as a sign of weakness but to you, it is you not doing anything or cutting anything that might hurt you.
